The Business Development Committee is essentially 'what it says on the can' - looking at how to help HRA and its members to develop their business. By looking for commercial opportunities that help members, either through marketing of the heritage rail sector or sharing good practice between members, to grow their business returns.
The terms of reference for the committee can be found HERE but essentially we provide a public facing website where information about the location of individual operating members can be found as well as an annual publication Group Travel Guide with a specialist publisher that is also accessible through the website.
We explore common business concerns and look to share best practice both within the membership but more general in tourism, heritage and attraction umbrella organisations.
The remit also includes advising on a range of topics from filming to facilities hire, ticketing to travel trade promotion, social media use to statutory tourist bodies.
